Intrinsic Studio Collective sits at the convergence of bespoke design and holistic wellbeing. Guided by a wellness-first philosophy, we craft timeless interiors where balance, beauty and function meet—transforming the way our clients experience their everyday spaces.
ELEVATED SPATIAL DESIGN
We create wellness-centred homes that nurture mental, physical and emotional wellbeing through intentional layouts and eco-conscious materials. Drawing from serene minimalism and cross-cultural influences, particularly from Southeast Asia, our aesthetic is grounded, soulful and globally inspired.
Every space is crafted with timeless attention to detail and a deep respect for organic, sustainable materials, resulting in interiors that are both enduring and elevated.
WHO WE ARE
Founded in 2012 by Cheryl Tay, Intrinsic Studio Collective has rooted its full-service design and build practice in the Greater Toronto Area, serving clients worldwide.
Being of Southeast Asian heritage, the couple cherishes this connection and applies a holistic approach to interiors and their effect on overall wellbeing.
Our clients range from Toronto locals restoring 20th century homes to avid travellers constructing their overseas home away from home, and everything in-between.
MEET OUR LEADERSHIP
CHERYL TAY & CALVIN LAM
Cheryl and Calvin lead Intrinsic Studio Co. with heart, vision and a shared belief in design as a tool for wellbeing. Cheryl’s journey began with a passion for creating spaces that feel beautiful and livable, while Calvin’s background in construction brought the structure to grow that vision into a full-service design and build firm. Together, they’ve shaped a practice rooted in holistic living—crafting luxe environments that support the way people live.
At Intrinsic Studio Co., we believe true luxury is more than aesthetics: it’s about creating a home that nurtures well-being, enriches your lifestyle and reflects your personal story.
Our design philosophy is rooted in the belief that homes should be grounding, inspiring and personal.

FEATURED PROJECT
PROJECT CHARLES
This high-rise condo in Toronto’s Manulife building was given a full-service cosmetic refresh to reflect the clients’ personalities and blended cultural backgrounds—all within the constraints of a long-term rental. Without the option for structural changes, our focus turned to bespoke detailing, layered finishes and custom millwork. A refined material palette and bold botanical wallpaper nod to a fusion of Parisian elegance and Asian heritage, while custom bedroom wardrobes provide practical, integrated storage. Art, texture and restraint work together to transform this rental into a personal and expressive home.
